Our WHY

We believe that animals deserve better

For years, we’ve been active in communities dedicated to horses, exotic reptiles, cats, and game birds. We’ve seen the beauty of careful husbandry, and had to rescue animals that had been horrifically mistreated.

The WMAF is our candle in the darkness, shining the light of education for humans and glowing as a beacon for animals that need better care or even a forever home.

Our Programs

We’ve developed several programs to help us achieve our mission.

what the cluck?

We focus on the care of quail, from hatching through retirement, including the use of delicious and nutritious eggs.

cade’s colubrids

Snake husbandry education and limited rescue and adoption of at-risk snakes. Includes the breeding of palmetto corns!

stella’s stable

Advocacy for, and training of, feral horses (mustangs) and other at-risk or elderly horses that require a soft touch or soft landing.

crabby old cattery

Stray and feral cats often don’t get a lot of love. We aim to give hardscrabble felines a place to rest their paws in peace.
